People get into golf with a tremendous passion for the game. Many quit golf because they cannot play at the level of their expectations or become injured. The technology of being able to develop a more efficient golfer has changed dramatically over the past 15 years. Golfers of all ages and abilities can may significant improvements in their golfing abilities.

The new technology that is now available for amateur golfers can help any golfer play better in a short period of time.

  1. An evaluation of your movement patterns and develop a golf specific fitness level program by a Golf Performance Specialist.
  2. Development of a custom golf fitness program from your fitness level to improve your movement efficiency and prevent injuries.
  3. Evaluation of the efficiency of your golf swing movements and using audio-visual biofeedback training to enhance your movement patterns.
  4. Coaching with a PGA golf professional.
  5. Make sure your golf clubs fit properly.

Research shows that your physical limitations lead to specific golf swing faults. Many golfers become frustrated with their golf game due to lack of improvement. Your body can cause your lack of improvement if you do not have the physical abilities needed to complete your proper golf swing. These limitations can lead to poor performance and golf injuries.

Physical Performance and Fitness has become the standard in the development of all golfers over the past decade. The most important factor has been the understanding that all golfers are different. A custom fitness program must be developed for each golfer to maximize their performance.

Titleist Performance Institute through their research has found that there is not one way to swing a golf club, but an infinite number of swing styles. Although there is an infinite number of ways to complete a golf swing, their is only one efficient way for each golfer to complete their golf swing.
This efficient way to swing a club is based on the physical abilities of the golfer.

At Golf Fitness 4 You, we not only realize the importance of assisting you in reaching your golf potential, but also educating golfers in the importance of how their body relates to their golf swing.

I encourage the parents to be involved in the Junior Boys Program, Junior Girls Program, and also the Elite Golfer Program. Watch for scheduled meetings throughout the year or call if you have further questions.

Junior Boys Golf Fitness Program

Greg has helped many junior golfers reach their goals of improved performance as they grow through their teenage years. Their golf fitness program is progressed as their body continues to grow and develop. Programs are developed for off-season training and also focusing around their tournaments during their playing season. The Junior golfer learns how to continue with their golf fitness program for maximal performance in the playing season.

The Junior Program focuses on the long term athletic development of golfers. There are 2 age levels of juniors: Ages 11 to 13 years old and 14 to 17 years old. There is a lot of information now available that junior athletes make  better junior golfers.

I work in small groups of no more than 5 students at one time or 1 on 1 sessions with me. These programs are scheduled every other week. Every junior has their own individual program based off the findings from the initial assessment which is also updated as often as needed.

Our junior golf fitness program focuses on building the foundations for elite junior golfers.

Programs are developed for off-season training and also for maintaining their golf fitness level throughout their playing season.

Men Golfers

Golf Fitness 4 You has golf performance programs that meet the needs of golfers as they age. I am capable of monitoring the golfer's heart rate throughout their workout. This allows us to design specific golf programs that are within the golfer's fitness level. This also allows us to focus on arthritic changes and other aging conditions of the golfer and complete specific exercises for improved functional movement with less discomfort.

Many golfer's in this age group feel that they must accept the fact that they will hit shorter shots with every club. Golfers over 40 begin to lose strength at 1% a year if they complete no fitness program. This strength loss increases to 2% to 3% a year as the golfer reaches 50. To maintain a golfer's distance with each club is a result of the golfer's power. Your body loses power twice as fast as it loses strength. It is imperative that the aging golfer works specifically on golf fitness and power to maintain their distance.

I have group lessons of 4 men golfers if you are new to golf fitness and also 1 on 1 programs with golfers to meet your golf fitness goals.

Women Golfers

I have golf fitness programs for all levels of women golfers. There are 1 on 1 lessons that allow you to reach your goals sooner and also be more involved in a comprehensive evaluation and fitness program.

There are also groups of 4 women golfers that complete a beginning movement analysis. I also offer classes for upper body mobility and lower body mobility for those interested in a warm of class if you are new to golf fitness.

Senior Golfers

It is scientifically proven the aging process adversely affects the body-swing connection of the golf swing. This occurs by loss of one’s mobility, stability, balance capacities, speed and strength capacities to generate power. The aging golfer can lose 50% of their muscle mass between the ages of 20 and 50 if they are not active. The average golfer can lose 30% of their strength between the ages of 50 and 70. These startling numbers indicate the need for golfers of these ages to be pro-active in reversing their loss of strength.

Golfers in these age ranges require a golf specific fitness program to reverse and limit the aging process of their golf game. That is why Golf Fitness 4 You tests your movement patterns to determine how a golf specific fitness program is developed for your current abilities.

If you are concerned that you have never completed a golf specific fitness program and may not be able to complete these exercises, we have specific programs for beginners.

Paying Forward – Helping Junior Golfer with Special Needs Play Golf

As a Golf Performance Coach, I have the opportunity to help young golfers with special needs to become better athletes first and then better golfers. Titleist Performance Institute emphasizes that when working with younger golfers, it should be done in a way that allows the junior golfer to have fun as you are developing their skills.

I have had the great opportunity to work with Jeremy for the past 3 years. As we have worked on functional skills and games throughout the year, he is now able to run, jump, do pushups, planks, jumping jacks, and much more. His ability to swing a golf club has also improved greatly.

Testimonials

"I've been working with Greg for 5 years now and it was one of the best decisions I've made.
He has played a major role in helping me reach one of my goals of playing Division 1 college
Golf. Since working with Greg my golf game and fitness have reached new levels. I am now
averaging a 125 mph club head speed with my driver from the strength and power I have gained
and am still able to keep it in the fairway thanks to the use of the K-Vest. I'm happy to say that
Greg has helped me to be able to compete with some of the best amateur golfers in the world when
I start my college golf tournaments the fall of 2017"Rick Costello
Top 10 finish the last 3 years, Illinois High School State Golf Tournament

"After working with Greg, I've improved in all aspects of my game.  I've significantly increased
my consistency and my golf swing has become much more repeatable and reliable.  Most important,
I am confident that I can continue to improve and perform at a high level with his help.
Greg and the TPI program have truly been a game changer for me!"

Matt Shipley
2015 & 2016 Club Champion at Mistwood Golf Club,
Top 20 finisher in Illinois State Amateur Championship

"I have been working with Greg for the past 5 years.  Although I minimize my regime during the
summer months, I still continue to improve my ball striking. Working on my physical limitations has
improved my shot pattern and increased my stamina throughout the round."

Bert Coghill
4 Handicap with Hickory Sticks

“Thanks, Greg. I enjoyed working with you, and appreciate your insights and skill applying your
expertise to my withered body. We played Waters Edge yesterday. Time will tell, but it feels like
my improved flexibility in the hips helps me keep the ball more consistently straighter and
occasionally longer. So let's play for money.”

Jim O'Keefe

“Greg has worked with Jeremy for a couple of years. During this time, Jeremy has improved in
many areas we never thought he would. Jeremy can now run and jump more easily than he has
ever done in his life. Greg has worked on those areas to increase his strength while also
working on Jeremy’s golfing skills. This has been an asset since Jeremy has been diagnosed
with Autism Spectrum and has had some physical delays throughout his life. Greg provides
Jeremy with motivation to increase not only his individual skills that he teaches, but life in
general. We have seen Jeremy blossom with Greg and see him as a mentor to Jeremy.”
